Micro Tale - 14

dipping under ointment, her wrinkled fragile tips turned red. Chewing all the pain, she garnished her plum cake. Holding her wrist, peeking at her favorite watch, She held her breadth but again the knife remained useless. *'granny why you love them so much', she asked herself*

About the story

  1.  In this tale, bearing all the pain and taking not even a single thought about her age, beloved granny took the pain to make the cake, thinking his cradle son and his wife would come to celebrate with her.
  2. To her surprise, his son and his wife didn't turned up and like everyday she was left alone with herself. She was disgruntled with the fact not even for one day his son can meet her and talk about life with her.
  3. The tale takes a real twist, showing that this is actually not new for her. Every year she prepares the cake, waits for him with full benevolent eyes yet his son never turned up. At the end, instead of cursing his son false/insensible behavior, she was upset with herself. Why she is trapped in maze of love.

Tips and Tricks

  • This tale is pretty unique from the rest of my micro tale. By the way, do comment down below, how you are linking my blog. I would be glad to know the incites from you. This tale, has only one speaker and entire story revolves around her, this shows that it doesn't require to have multiple actors in your tale to add diversity. Use the twist of emotions well.
  • Since, granny is shown as the protagonist, try to describe her something peculiar. Like in this the manner she prepared the cake, her fragile tips are some of the things I used to describe her work/character sketch.
  • Also, again in the previous tale as well, where I used rose as a prop, here I used cake. I can't stretch further importance of prop in your play. It adds such a blend of emotions with the story..
